About Us

At MFCH, we meet people with mental and behavioral disabilities wherever they are in their personal journey, and work to develop personalized support plans that encourage independence, with the support of our dedicated staff. We provide continual opportunities for normalization within the surrounding community by offering a sense of family, positive reinforcement to increase adaptive behavior skills and the encouragement of a healthy self-concept.

Many of the residents who have come to MFCH because of their behaviors, have improved dramatically and have a wonderful overall experience living within the community.

We are proud to provide to our residents the welcoming and supportive group homes that have made Mariah’s Family Care Home the top choice for so many people in the Milwaukee area. Please contact us today so we may further explain our services and the benefits they provide.

Our Core Values

Meet the Team

Janine Dagons

In 2000 I started working in residential for special needs challenging youth, while going to college. I began as direct care staff and soon was promoted to assistant manger, then group home manager in 2002, where I stayed a manager for the remainder of my working there. After 10 years of working at my job, I transitioned from working/managing group homes to owning them. I saw there was no transition for children with special needs and challenging behaviors into adulthood. I started Mariah’s Family Care Home in 2009 hoping to help with that transition into the community and adulthood. I started working in the field for a job and it turned into my passion and career. I enjoying working with individuals who others find it impossible to work with.

Emily Dagons

I went to UW-Whitewater where I graduated with a Bachelors of Social Work in 2005. Soon after that I began to work at a residential treatment center for youth with special needs/challenging behaviors. While working here I continued my education and went on to receive my Masters Degree in Social Work from George Williams University. I then worked at a nursing home for five years before realizing I wanted to get back into the mental health field. This is when I began working for MFCH. I have worked for MFCH for 8 years and enjoy working with the clients to help them design their own individual programming to help them live their own best life!

I went to Carroll University, where I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in psychology. I then started working at Genesee Lake School as a residential counselor. I worked at Roger’s Memorial Hospital as a CNA on the adolescent impatient unit, I also passed medications to residents at both facilities. I then went to UW-Milwaukee where I received my bachelor degree in nursing. I worked at GLS as a nurse for a year. I wanted to work with a different population as I had been working at GLS for a total of nine years at that time. This led me to find Mariah’s Family Care Home, where I now advocate for the health and mental health needs of the individuals here. I have worked here for three years now. I enjoy working in long-term care setting so I can build a rapport with the individuals we serve.
